Louis Theroux: Inside the manosphere
I think most of us have watched inside the manosphere from the world renowned documentarian Louis Theroux on Netflix.
I am a mum i have two boys my eldest son is 15, my youngest son is 10 and i have been in a relationship for near on 20 years.
So why talk about this in on a mental health page, the answer is quite simple i very much believe some of these men simple went to therapy and dealt with their trauma they would not spew this rhetoric.
First we start with Harrison Sullivan aka HSTikytoky he is 23 and I fully believe with age come wisdom and in 10-15 plus years, maybe he will look back at everything one day. He is a boy, he simply does not have the life experience, to truly understand what he is saying that is not a pass its not ok this will follow him for the rest of his life and good !!!
Maybe he will go on and have a redemption arc, If not when someone shows you who they are believe them. He does say himself that it is for content, He was very suspicious and guarded with Louis he clearly had a fear of how he would be represented but Louis just needed to let him talk and he hung himself. Harrison was raised by his mum his dad wasn’t in the picture, so where does this misogyny come from he grew up watching his mum provide for him. I do believe that respect should be the baseline you then adjust accordingly a lot through the documentary they all talk about mindset but if you continually put out this negative, abusive behavior, then that is what you receive back your vibe attracts your tribe kind of thing. We do meet Harrisons mum and she comes across as no nonsense and she clearly loves him as he does her theres clearly respect there, she does say you don’t always agree with everything your children say which is correct however if my child just spewed this vile homophobic, misogynistic, relataphobic, racist disgusting view i think i might be like i think I’ve made a grave error as a parent even if its just to earn money, absolutely not girls no.
We then move onto Justin Waller, now he is successful self made business man great role model did it all himself came from nothing incredible. He has a partner he has children and its beautiful. He has partners on the side which I don’t think should be judged his wife knows that’s there relationship they obviously came to this agreement its not for anyone to judge. Would i do it no if we are together then I don’t share that’s my choice, Relationships look different to everyone.
However, he opens his mouth and my god he shouldn’t, men don’t have value that’s simply not true everyone has value if your a decent human being you have value its starts with you, how you view yourself (Therapy)
Justin says a lot while saying absolutely nothing, women have invented many things, things that he has no doubt used, look on TikTok he’s been absolutely decimated. We move onto women are born with value (correct) but our value isn’t just in our looks as is believed, our looks are the first thing that’s attacked.
People will treat you how you allow them to treat you, its taken many many years of therapy to get to a point where my self worth was unshakable at the grand old age of 38 so this younger generation consuming this content stand no chance and as a parent its our job to educate not to say everything is wrong but to have open discussions about these topics talk about different view points there’s no need to try and give your options to men who think like this they don’t deserve your time don’t waste your breath.
I don’t like this men vs women, one is better blah blah its just not true i think in any relationship whether its straight, gay whatever when two people come together they each bring their own personality, there own views and These stereotypical women’s jobs mans jobs no just no, personally my relationship is not 50/50 there are things i do more of there are things my partner does more of any building maintenance things I don’t know how too I’m not doing it and I just don't like to get dirty. I run the house i have more time, i organize the kids i do the food shop etc, i like to cook, i hate doing laundry so he will do the majority of it.
I like to clean I’m also a control freak, I like things a certain way (totally my problem, I don't project that onto anyone) When our children were young he stayed at home and i went to work. So it’s never going to be 50/50 but we do our parts and it works. This ideology of what a women’s role is or a mans role or what makes a man/women is just nonsense in a world were you can be exactly what you want to be no label is needed.
Myron I can’t I just can’t he is just plays this character, what i do want to talk about is the women that go on these podcasts why ?
I’m genuinely baffled as too why you would put yourself in theses situations even when you are expressing your points as too why you disagree and your putting your view across, these men fall apart, you trigger there untreated trauma (therapy) and just call you ugly or fat, for what?
They are making money off your back absolutely not.
The last thing I’m going to give you some advice for free just be decent human, your not entitled to anybody not there time, not there energy and no is a no. Different people are attracted to different things you do not need to be a big muscular man making bank, to the right person you will be everything it does start with you.
Some cheat codes, always smell good and clean your ears, clean your shoes well know you clean everything else.
